Fuel oil can be ordered from shop A or shop B and transportation must also be paid for. Prices per litre of oil and for transportation are given in the table below. The price of transport in both stores is independent of the amount of oil purchased and the distance.



  • Jan has a cuboid fuel oil container which is dm wide, dm long and dm high. Jan measures the height from where the oil reaches to the top of the container to be dm. In which of the stores A or B will Jan buy heating oil so that he pays less for oil with transportation and how much will he pay?


  • At what quantity of oil will he pay the same amount for oil and transportation in both stores?
