The Diffraction Grating

The Diffraction Grating problem 2

A beam of white light falls on a diffraction grating with a grid of 300 slits per millimeter. If the interference image is obtained on a screen 2 m away, calculate:

  • the heights of the first-order maximum measured from the grid bisector.

  • the heights of the second-order maximum measured from the grid bisector.

  • the height of the undeviated light beam.
