In metal, the conduction band overlaps the valence band, that is, no forbidden band. As the temperature rises, the lattice vibration increases, resulting in the restriction of the movement of electrons or charge carriers in the metal.

When the movement of electrons or charge carriers in a metal decreases, the current in the metal decreases, hence an increase in the resistance of the metal.
