Projectile Motion problem 37

A steel ball is projected horizontally from the top of a table.

The ball is projected horizontally at a speed of . The ball lands on the ground a horizontal distance of from the edge of the table.

Assume that air resistance is negligible.

  • Calculate the time taken for the ball to reach the ground.

  • Calculate the vertical component of the velocity of the ball as it hits the ground.

  • Determine the magnitude and the angle to the horizontal of the velocity of the ball as it hits the ground.
