The equation where the unknown occurs below the root (square, cubic) is called an irrational equation.


Solving the irrational equation



We solve irrational equations by translating them into equations in which the variabler no longer appears below the root. Since the obtained equation is not equivalent to the original one (since we can obtain a solution that does not correspond to the given equation by exponentiation), we must always check the validity of the solutions at the end.


At the end of solving an irrational equation, it is always necessary to do a test.
