At right angles to the lines of a homogeneous magnetic field, a conducting rod of length 12 cm and mass 40 g is placed on parallel tracks as shown in the figure below. Calculate the magnitude and direction of the acceleration with which the rod slides along the tracks, if a current of 8 A flows through the rod, the magnetic field density is 0.18 T, and the friction between the rod and the tracks is neglected.
