Systematic errors are errors in which all readings are either above or below the accepted or true value while random errors are errors in which the readings are scattered about the accepted or true value.

Systematic error cannot be eliminated by averaging but can be corrected or minimised by improving experimental techniques like zero error while random error can be eliminated by averaging or plotting a graph.
