How does the distance of an image from the vertex of a concave mirror change if we change the distance of the object? The focal length of the mirror is 20 cm.

If the object is lying at a distance greater than the focal length, the distance of the image from the mirror is positive and the image is real. The closer the object is to the focus of the mirror, the farther away the image will be. If we place the object at the principal focus, the image will be at infinity. If the object lies between the principal focus and the vertex of the mirror, the distance of the image is negative - the image will be virtual.
Since we know (see Optical Imaging - Mirrors) that the ratio of the distance of the image to that of the object from the mirror is the same as the ratio of the size of the image to that of the object, we conclude that the image will be largest (real or virtual) if the object is near the focus.
