A lead block of length , height and width is placed in the mud at a depth of below the surface of a lake, as shown in the figure below. If the density of lead is , calculate:

  • the upthrust on the lead block.

  • the pressure on the lake floor on which the block stands. (Do not take air pressure into account in the calculation)
